Welcome, Colonels Bell

They may look like new faces, but they are certainly no strangers to Weirton or Hancock, Brooke and Jefferson Counties! Welcome home, Colonels Mark and Alice Bell. They have assumed leadership of the Weirton Salvation Army and the Wellsburg Salvation Army. Want to know what’s really fascinating? These two got married at the Weirton Quonset Hut and took their post ceremony photos right along Harmon Creek back in the seventies!! When you speak to the Bells, you cannot help but feel a surge of energy, passion and goodness. They have dedicated their life to helping others. Colonel Mark actually grew up several hundred yards away from where he now works in Haller Park, just beyond Weirton Lumber. He graduated from Brooke high School. So this is truly a “coming home” for them and we could not be more excited to have them here helping those who need it the most. If you see Colonel Mark or Colonel Alice around town, please stop and say hi. You will be glad you did.   In the meantime, next time you stop by Hancock County Savings Bank, consider making a contribution of non-perishable food items for The Salvation Army. THANK YOU !
