Tips to stay Focused when working from Home

The global spread of COVID-19, is keeping people at home. Much of our world is on lockdown, and, even in places that aren’t, people are encouraged to stay at home. Where it’s possible, employers are encouraging or requiring people to work from home. If you’re new to the work-from-home lifestyle, whether due to coronavirus or because you’ve managed to find a remote-based job, you’ll need to change some of your habits and routines to make working from home a success.

We have compiled a list of tips to help you be successful when working from home.

  1. Maintain Regular Hours. Set a schedule, and stick to it

  2. Create a Routine.

  3. Dress for success. (The better you look the better you feel.)

  4. Create and follow a To Do list with your goals outlined.

  5. Set Ground Rules with the People who live in Your Space.

  6. Schedule Breaks to refresh your state of mind and be sure to take a full break for lunch.

  7. Leave Home. (Even though you are “Home”, remember you are at “Work”.

  8. Keep a Dedicated Office Space. Somewhere that is quiet and free from distraction.

  9. Keep in Contact and Communicate with your employer often (they do not see what you are accomplishing so tell them.)

  10. End your day with a routine just as you started it with one.
