New Cumberland looks a bit different today. The New Cumberland Garden Club recently installed 3 “Book Nooks” in the city.
You can’t miss them! The brightly painted Book Nooks are located near the Magic Tree Community Garden, next to the former Staley Hardware store, and near the New Cumberland RX Center. The boxes were built by local high school senior Ethan Hurl.
The Book Nooks are a free-book sharing project that runs on the honor system. The rules are simple:
Donate only new or gently used books
People who take a book or two are encouraged to bring some to share
There is no need to donate a book in order to take one
Books taken from the book nooks cannot be sold
The Garden club is in the process of collecting books to fill all three nooks within the city.
All Donations may be dropped off at the city building in New Cumberland. All books will be sanitized before being placed in the Nooks.
