With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, the employees of Hancock County Savings Bank have had the privilege of participating in Operation Valentine, a program sponsored by Chambers & James Funeral Homes in Follansbee and Wellsburg, WV. This special project encourages the community, schools and local businesses to send personalized Valentine’s Day cards to troops who are deployed overseas. This will be the 8th year for the program.
The cards can be dropped off at Chambers Funeral Home, 1030 Main Street, Wellsburg, WV or James Funeral Home, 1245 Main Street, Follansbee, WV. Cards will be accepted until Wednesday, February 5th, but please do not include glitter, candy or food items.
As a community bank, we are fortunate enough to be able to develop and grow our relationships with our customers and community, both in the tristate area and abroad. Sending a card is the least we can do to brighten the day of these men and women of the Armed Forces. These heroes are making daily sacrifices for our country and we hope to fill their Valentine’s Day with a little extra love.
Weirton Branch Manager Deidra Edwards and Customer Service Supervisor Jennifer McHenry display Valentine cards that will be sent to our troops overseas.
