East Liverpool Rotary Celebrates Centennial with 5K

Virtual events have become increasingly popular as the year of 2020 has progressed. With the coronavirus causing the cancellation of many activities and community gatherings, organizations have turned to the internet as a way to host events.

One of the local groups to take advantage of this idea is the East Liverpool Rotary Club.

The club was established in 1920 and is celebrating its 100th anniversary. In celebration, the rotary is hosting a Virtual 5K. All participants are encouraged to run or walk 3.1 miles at any time during the months of September and October. You can even add two or three walks together to equal the 3.1 mile distance.

To register, visit the club’s website at www.elrotary.org

Hancock County Savings Bank is a major sponsor of this event and many employees are excited to take part. All participants of the 5K, which is being conducted on the honor system, will receive a limited edition centennial t-shirt and a rotary medal.
