October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and at Hancock County Savings Bank we support the fight for a cure. According to the CDC’s official website, each year in the United States more than 250,000 women will be diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Chances are almost all of us know someone who has been affected by the disease.
Women who are over the age of 50 are more prone to the disease. Once a woman turns 40 they are encouraged to get a yearly mammogram for early detection.
As supporters, we all hope that greater knowledge will lead to earlier detection of breast cancer, which is associated with higher long-term survival rates, and that this knowledge will produce a cure.
In support of the cause, the lobbies of HCSB will be decorated in pink mums from local Ianetti’s Garden Center of Burgettstown, PA.
