35th Annual Coleman School of Basketball

For the past 35 years, the Coleman School of Basketball has provided a much needed service to the children of our community. The Coleman family along with area coaches and other volunteers led by Camp Director Mel Coleman, work hard each year to give area kids a great week of fundamental basketball. Mr. Mel Coleman is the former head basketball coach for Weirton Madonna high school, Wintersville high school, Lorain Admiral King high school, Norfolk State University, Maple Heights high school, and Brooke high school. Mel is a very accomplished and talented Basketball Coach and the children of this area are so lucky to be able to participate in such a great camp lead by such a legend. On July 10th this year Hancock County Savings Bank was honored to have an opportunity to visit the camp which is held at Mercy Baptist Church in Weirton, WV. Each year Hancock County Savings Bank donates to the camp and it was so nice to get to see just what it’s all about. Mel Coleman and his family have given countless hours to the children in our community and we would like to offer our appreciation to them for what they do year after year to make our community a better place. Thank You for giving of your time and talent to help the children of the area dream bigger.
